You will need WinZip to extract TireChange. Once you have done this, simply run the wintire.exe file.

TireChange is a program written in C++ that will compare your tire size to all tire sizes to see which ones match within the specified range of difference.

This can be quite usefull if you have a vehicle that has fairly wide tires such as P215/##R##.  If you plan on driving this vehicle during the winter, these tires will make it more difficult than if you had a narrower tire (P195/##R##) on it.  But, when you are changing the size of the tires on your vehicle, it is important to remember that in order to prevent your speedometer from giving a false reading, you must maintain the same overall tire/rim assembly height.  So you must calculate what your overall tire/rim height is at present and compare it to the size of the tire/rim assembly you plan to put on your vehicle.  This is what TireChange does for you.

I would like to take full credit for writing this software, but I can't. I had quite a bit of help with it.  I would like to thank Melvin Legge for all his help while I was writing this software.  Melvin taught C++ at Nortech College in Mt. Pearl, NF Canada while I was attending an Information Technology course there.  I put this program together for a project that was part of the course requirements. I could not have finished it without Melvin's help.

TireChange is free of course, but if you download it please e-mail me and let me know what you think of it and especially if you find anything wrong with it. TireChange runs on Win95 or WinNT platforms.
